Stone setting is always a delicate subject. The two 'components': the setting form and the stone, must be in balance. It's like a relationship. It's important that one doesn't overwhelm the other, that both parties maintain their autonomy. They must highlight differences in form, colour or material, or complement each other. I often personalise the components of the jewellery. In this case I show this relationship from the perspective of the stone as it tries to break free from the grip of the metal.
